We Are Bristol

A New Three Year Programme Across Bristol's Neighbourhoods

We believe in the power of art to create social change and through our strong partnerships We Are Bristol will celebrate Bristol’s rich myriad of voices to the city and beyond. Helen Cole, Artistic Director/CEO, In Between Time

We Are Bristol will bring citizens from across the city together for the first time to collaborate and create extraordinary artwork and events with artists that work across art, theatre, dance, music and activism.

This is an ambitious three year programme developed in partnership with Knowle West Media Centre, Up Our Street and Ambition Lawrence Weston and is funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation.

We Are Bristol builds on our long-term commitment to our city’s neighbourhoods that began with 2015’s Night Walks with Teenagers by Mammalian Diving Reflex and continued in 2017 inviting 45 incredible Bristolians from across the city to collaborate with New York theatre company 600 HIGHWAYMEN to create The Record.

Watch our round up film of The Record, a UK premiere at IBT17 Festival.

Our first We Are Bristol project brings world-renowned Australian theatre company Back to Back Theatre to the city in July 2018 to create THE DEMOCRATIC SET, in which people that live in Bristol are invited to take part in a film of their city.
