Workshop: Nonviolent Action Training Against Climate Change

Description Details

'It might just work.' ROWAN WILLIAMS, THIS IS NOT A DRILL

The Summit workshop programme, led by artists and activists, will help you develop the tactics, ideas, knowledge, confidence and skills to co-create lo-fi collective actions across the streets of Bristol and the place you live.

How to block a road; how to occupy a bridge; how to feed a protest; how to act fast.

Delivered by Extinction Rebellion this workshop deals with the task facing us all. Once we tell ourselves the truth, how do we work together to create the political action that is inevitable?

Exploring how to protest legally and safely, the workshop creates artistic tactics for public action ranging from dance to performance, walking, voice and text.

A 2-hour training on how to use nonviolent direct action (NVDA) to address the climate crisis. The training will cover the practice of nonviolent techniques: showing you how to de-escalate tense situations.

This event is part of the In Between Time Summit Day 1 & Day 2 programme. The event is included in the 1-Day Ticket or 3-Day Summit Pass and cannot be booked separately.

Extinction Rebellion is an international movement that uses non-violent civil disobedience to achieve radical change in order to minimise the risk of human extinction and ecological collapse.
