‘…a beautiful, sedate action with strange, wordless inner logic.’ Real Time Arts
It is a stage. It is a beacon. It is the ground. It is the sun.
An artist slowly, methodically, applies gold leaf to a tiny portion of Bristol. A shiny gold surface interrupts the public thoroughfare.
This golden shape might represent rarity, desirability, or perhaps it’s a portal – an intriguing thought given its proximity to the river running under the city. Either way, the shape soon surrenders to everyday motion, disintegrating to tiny fragments caught in the sole of a shoe, the roots of a tree or flecks on the wind.
